The Cocke County Highway Department is responsible for maintaining the roads and bridges located within Cocke County. At this time, we are responsible for 702.66 miles of roads and 186 bridges. Our duties include grading, rocking, pothole patching, mowing, ditching, tile installation, paving, tree and debris removal, and sign maintenance, as well as emergency work during snow, ice, and flooding. The Highway Department also operates its own quarry where rock and fill material used for road projects are produced.
